The Rio Rico Fire District urges you to take the necessary steps to protect your home!

Create a defensible space around your home by removing leaves, dry grass and other flammables within at least 30 feet of your home. Cut and trim trees, bushes and shrubs to create  a defensible space. Cut branches which overhang your roof.

Remove all tall, dry grass from surrounding property. (dry grass can provide a path for a fire to spread to your home).

Remove leaves and other flammable debris from your roof and gutters.

Remove “ladder fuels” by pruning tree limbs (where possible) so the lowest to the ground is 6 feet to prevent any ground fuels from igniting limbs.

The time to act is now!

FREE Carseat/Boosters for kids!

We want to make sure everyone is safe from not only fires, but injuries too! Once a child outgrows a car seat at about age five and 40lbs, a booster seat can help position your child so the lap/shoulder seat belt fits them correctly. RRFD offers FREE booster seats to residents who qualify. Stop by our Admin Center with your child during normal business hours or give us a call for more details! Oh...and did you know that all children should ride buckled up in the back seat until age 12?
